Illusorian Beastiary: Crystal Bird

Well, here is number 3 on the list, the Crystal Bird (With a spiffy redesign to boot!)

Crystal Bird
Ht: 0'01"     (0.03 m)
Wt: 0.002 Lbs (0.0009 kg)
Tl: N/A
Ws: 0'02"     (0.06 m)

Type: Wind/Ice/Phoenix
Class: Bird/Miscellaneous/Spiritual

Classification: Crystalline Bird
Gender Ratio: 50% Male
Location: Northern Forests

Notable Features:
-Produces Oz naturally
-One of the few organisms able to handle large amounts of unfiltered Oz
-Very aggressive
-Attacks in groups
-Tends to have a few morphed leaders
-Highly territorial
-Able to cool the air around its feathers
-Weak, but quite swift and capable of teamwork

Life Span: N/A ; Doesn't die of old age
Mating Season: Early November to Late December
Courting Ritual: Males fight over females. Some males will have multiple mates. Occasionally females will fight over males instead, although this happens rarely

Brood: 5-9 Eggs
Gestation: 10-15 Days

Behaviour: Violent and territorial. However, they will usually let one go through unscathed provided they stick to trails.

Diet: Crystal Fruit ; Small bugs ; Arthropod-type Cryscon and Fiends ; Flamaworms

My favourite Cryscon and the second species I came up with (All the way back in Grade 5), the Crystal Bird is THE flagship Cryscon. It has received an overhaul for this occasion (the old version was... Let's just say that no art skill was needed. Only a ruler), and I'd say it was long overdue

Despite being among the weakest of Cryscon, not only are they capable of massive damage when in a group, they are able to morph into a Tier 1 Cryscon (Tier 1 Cryscon are creatures with enough power to rewrite reality itself - It is the only one of four that isn't a deity class). However, the restrictions to get the powerhouse are fairly nuts, requiring that you first pay 2000 Oz (a fifth of your starting amount!) and discarding a legendary oz crystal card to morph it into a Golden Crystal Bird which burns your Oz at 200 a round (a round being yours and your opponents turn together) just to keep it on the field. You then need to morph this into The Legendary Phoenix of Oz...

...Which is just as weak as a normal Crystal Bird. This requires a last step: You need to activate the Legendary Tome of Oz, which lets you activate the Crown of Oz (Removes all Oz requirements needed to attack with this creature), the Deliverance of Oz (The only attack modified by the Claw of Oz), the Claw of Oz (Gives infinite attack power to the Deliverance of Oz), and the Fortress of Oz (Gives the Phoenix infinite health). So while the creature itself is untouchable, these cards are completely unprotected, so you need to use a lot of items to keep your opponent from using an item or effect to destroy them (every Tier 1 card has some sort of glaring flaw - One glaring flaw is sheer strength - When a creature is destroyed, you lose Oz equal to the Maximum HP on the card. To attack, you pay Oz equal to half the attacks power, rounded up to the nearest 10. So if you use a 500 power attack on a creature with 50 health, your opponent loses 50 Oz and you lose 250! As such, a balance of weak and strong creatures is needed)

Anyways, the Crystal Bird is the flagship Cryscon, and my absolute favourite. I hope it ends up as one of the favourites of fans when the game is fully made and released

Next time I do a bestiary, I will feature my second favourite Cryscon, the Crysilk (said like Cri, not Cry)

EDIT: Holy crap that is faded. I'll replace the picture once I have a version with darker lines

Illusorian Beastiary: Slekupan

I wanted to introduce a different deity first, but may as well get to this one. Oddly, I had some troubles putting it up. I already sent it in before to get a spot at an art school, but this time it was being stubborn

Also, the symbol in the corner is a little bit off. The circle should be dead centre, if I recall. Anyways, on to the entry!

Slekupan
Ht: 6'11"-12'9" (2.11-3.89 m)
Wt: 172-291 Lbs (78.02-132.00 kg)
Tl: N/A
Ws: N/A

Type: Dark/Plant/Oz
Class: Deity/Human/Spiritual

Classification: Elmena Forest Guardian Deity
Gender Ratio: 100% Male
Location: N/A ; Roaming

Notable Features:
-No sharp facial features ; Smooth skin covers where eyes and mouth should be
-Has a pattern vaguely resembling a business suit
-Frequents forests
-Only Fiend Deity
-Disrupts memories when feeling threatened

Life Span: N/A ; Immortal
Mating Season: N/A ; None
Courting Ritual: Unknown

Brood: Unknown
Gestation: Unknown

Behaviour: Silent and foreboding. Fairly aggressive when attacked, and quite curious to the point of dissecting victims and putting them back together. Oddly shows no aggression to animals or small Cryscon and Fiends unless attacked by them first

Diet: Unknown; Likely doesn't eat due to lack of mouth

Slekupan is something called a Fiend. A Fiend is a cross between a Cryscin and a Cryscon. These are words in the language I've made for the game. Crys- is a prefix meaning beast, and -cin is a suffix that means normal or ordinary while -con means magic. Cryscon and Fiends are capturable, and humans in this setting are technically Cryscon (which leads to a whole new realm of Nightmare Fuel - Luckily, humans can't be captured by other humans. Intelligence makes a capture more difficult, as does being the same species)

Anyways, Slekupan here is special. He is the only deity who is a Fiend. He is also the only child of Chaos, the brother of Order who birthed all of the other deities - directly or indirectly - sans three. Slekupan was created with one goal in mind: At the end of days, he is meant to observe the battle between Order and Chaos (Order was once a part of Chaos. However, when she split, it damaged her mind severely and made her dangerously mental - wanting all of existence - herself included - to be obliterated), and step in to finish the job once Chaos was too weak to kill Order. He would then kill Chaos as well, along with any surviving life, and live alone in the abyss for an eternity

Yes, he does bear a striking resemblance to everybody's favourite tall man, Slenderman. Heck, compare the names! Sle-ku-pan. Slen-der-man. Same number of syllables, they rhyme, and they both start with Sle-. This isn't coincidental. Slekupan is a proxy of Slenderman. In a way, he IS Illusoria's Slenderman, but with a purpose (and also a soft spot for children and small animals - He's only killed a child once, and that was due to vengeance because of what a village did to the animals in an area)

However, there is one issue. He's been known to lure children and animals alike away, never to be seen again. He'll also eviscerate enemies and, if threatened, cause amnesia so the person gets lost. No, the amnesia isn't due to him being a Slendy proxy. It's due to him being an Illusorian Deity. A lot of them have... Let's just say one is made of the souls of the damned, one is a brain with a paintbrush for a tail and a hand made of neurons, with a metal plate on its brainhead that causes insanity, one is a mass of black, fire, and electricity that writhes around and both has form and no form at all at the same time, and leave amnesia to the fact that the human brain sometimes WANTS to forget what the hell it just saw

I've been considering rewriting parts of him to make him less like our lovable man in a suit

Well, I'll try to have another entry up next week!

Illusorian Beastiary: Grypyre

Welcome to the first edition of Illusoria Beastiary! I'll have a neat surprise for you next month, but first off, let's start with this guy:

Grypyre
Ht: 1'3"     (0.38 m)
Wt: 0.06 Lbs (0.03 kg)
Tl: 1'8"     (0.51 m)
Ws: 1'5"     (0.43 m)

Type: Dark/Wind
Class: Beast/Bird/None

Classification: Grip Bat
Gender Ration: 50% Male
Location: Mid-North Forests ; Coastel Northern Forests

Notable Features:
-Powerful claw at tip of tail
-Claw able to shatter bone
-Has surprisingly good eyesight
-Very strong family bonds

Life Span: 27-30 years
Mating Season: Late Octobor to Early March
Courting Ritual: Males woo the females with their hunting prowess. They mate for life, and will rarely find a new mate if their chosen mate dies.

Brood: 2-3 children
Gestation: 6 months

Behaviour: Very gentle and somewhat intelligent. Females very aggressive when rearing young, do not approach unless the female knows you prior to child rearing.

Diet: Small mammals, small lizards, and small Arthropod class Cryscon and Fiends.

Very interesting Cryscon, they have surprisingly sharp eyesight despite being bats. In fact, this gives them an advantage when hunting, as they can remain perfectly silent. Hunting during dusk and dawn, they only use their sonar at night when their eye sight is rendered far less effective. They will gruesomely dig their claws into their prey and shatter the bones to keep the prey from struggling.

Even though they are dark types, they have strong familial bonds and are actually quite kind and gentle creatures unless hunting. This is because a creature can be a dark type if it matches any two of the following three criteria:

1 - Aggressive or sneaky battle style
2 - Demonic or evil appearance
3 - Are actually evil

Because it meets the criteria of 1 and 2 (if YOU were a bat with a claw capable of crushing a skull and somebody attacked you, wouldn't you make them regret it?), it is considered a dark type

These creatures are often used as guides for those going through the woods. As they are nocturnal (the hunting during dawn and dusk lets them eat through the night and bond, and store some meat for whenever the young wake up the mothers in the middle of the day), they are quite useful for leading a human through the dark, using their claw to gently grip the human on the arm and pull them along a safe route
